Senior IT Process Engineer

Leveraging Lean Six Sigma techniques the Senior IT Process Engineer will work with clients to drive process improvements, eliminating waste, reducing cost and optimizing the flow of information. Responsible for analyzing, planning, implementing, and facilitating Lean Six Sigma working groups, and projects. The Process Engineer will work with clients to determine the scope, objectives, metrics, cost and schedule for Lean Six Sigma projects. Successful completion of projects will include a follow through post implementation to ensure that process changes have been adopted and Key Process Indicators (KPIs) are in place to ensure process control. 

 

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Reviews internal processes and procedures, using data-driven problem analysis tools to detect operating issues and assess return-on-investment indicators for improvement initiatives.
  • Develops clear and succinct problem/opportunity statements.
  • Measures the effectiveness and relevance of current business processes leveraging existing data; making observations and taking measurements directly, as well as collecting and interpreting data from technical and operating staff as required.
  • Develops, process flows, value stream maps or other tools to characterize current state.
  • Defines and Analyzes data; leverages paraeto analysis, fishbone diagrams, and hypothisis testing to define root cause(s).
  • Identifies, develops, tests potential solution sets.
  • Reports findings and presents process improvement reccomendations to key stakeholders.
  • Collaborates with team members in the development of a process improvement  implementation plan.
  • Partner with project sponsor and key stakeholders to define project objectives, scope, schedule, budget and outcomes.
  • Collaborate with project sponsor and team members to define project tasks and resource requirements.
  • Develop full scale project plans.
  • Monitor and present project status reports defining project progress, problems and solutions to all stakeholders.
  • Implement and manage project changes and interventions to achieve project outputs.
  • Works with process owners to establish Key Process Indicators (KPIs) to esure the “To Be” process operates at optimum levels and stays within accepteable control parameters.
  • Ensures process improvement and project artifacts are complete, current, and stored appropriately.

 Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree required. Degree in Technical, or Business discipline preferred.
  • Lean certification; six sigma green / black belt certification a plus
  • 5-10 years experience applying lean / continuous improvement initiatives in business / IT operations
  • Higher education project management experience preferred
  • Prior experience as a Business Analyst a plus
  • Demonstrable project management experience
